A repair definition is a user friendly way to display a repair option to the customer whilst populating all the required information in the backend to raise a repair directly into your housing management system.
Repair definitions contain important information that will be sent to your housing management system such as SOR code, repair type, contract name, priority rating and the repair category it links to.
The description of the repair definition should be meaningful to your customers as this is what they will see after selecting the repair category.
Create a repair definition
From the 'Repairs Definition' section of the Dashboard click 'Create Definition'
Enter a name for the definition. Make this friendly as it will be shown to the customer.
Enter an optional safety notice
Select the repair category
Select the SOR table to display the SOR codes
Select the relevant SOR code
Select the repair type
Select the priority
Select the contract
Click 'Create Definition' to create.
Safety notice
When creating a repairs definition you can optionally add a safety notice to display a warning to a customer when they select a certain repair definition. This is designed to warning a customer of potential danger if the repair definition they select may expose them in some way. For example if you had a definition for a loose electrical socket you may want to display a message to the customer to say they must call your customer services team immediately.
Add a safety notice
When creating a repair definition, add a message into the 'Enter a safety notice' field.
View the safety notice as an admin
You can view the safety notice of the definition, if it has one set, by clicking the details button in the safety notice column.
Note: if a safety notice is not set for the definition, the details button will not show.
How the safety notice is displayed to the customer
The warning is displayed to the customer and must be accepted before they can proceed to raise the repair
