In TenantWise a repair category is the first option that a customer will select when the start the process of raising a repair. A repair category is simply a collection of repair definitions that are related to each other in some way, normally by trade. For example the category 'Electrical' would contain all the repairs that are related to electrical work. A category is designed to give the customer a simple way to narrow down the choice of a repair.

Create a repair category

From the 'Repair Categories' section of the Dashboard click the 'Create Category' button

Give your category a name and a friendly name that will be displayed to customers. This allows you to create a name that you can relate to as admins that will be different to what the customer will see.

Click 'Create' to save

Make a category inactive

If you wish to no longer display a certain category of repairs to a customer you can make the category inactive by clicking 'Make Inactive' next to the category.

Make a category active

If you need to reactivate a repair category, ensure your filter is set to 'Inactive' and click 'Make Active' next to the category you wish to reactivate.
